Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) - The serial number of a car assigned by the manufacturer, usually found on a metal plate located on top of the dashboard. No two vehicles have the same number. The VIN contains information about the vehicle; the year, make, model, manufacturer, engine size, number of doors, restraint systems, etc.
